ISLA MUJERES
The "Island of Women"
Isla Mujeres, Spanish for "Island of Women”, is an island off the Yucatán Peninsula coast in the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico where the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea meet. The island is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) long and 650 metres (2,130 ft) wide and is approximately about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) off the Peninsula coast. East of the Island is the Caribbean Sea with a strong surf and rocky coast, and to the west the skyline of Cancún can be seen across the waters.

Getting Around on the Island
Taxi Services
There is a taxi stand to the left of the ferry exit. Taxi's are pretty easy to find wherever you are.
Golf Carts
The main sources of transportation on the Island are golf carts and taxis. I use Julio with Best Tours and Rentals for golf carts. He can arrange a golf cart for you to pick up or have it delivered. You can reach Julio via WhatsApp at +52 998 305 3291
There are also golf cart rentals within walking distance from the ferry. I do recommend reserving golf carts ahead of time during peak season. They will
want your Drivers License and will keep it until you return the golf cart.
Rental Bikes & Scooters
Both are available for rental in downtown.
